Conrad Makkah Hotel: Fancy a luxury Umrah hotel for half the price? Here is the trick…

If you bought the 75% extra Hilton points which I posted about recently, now I have the best place for using them. Well at least for all those who can enter Makkah. 🙂

The new Conrad property in Makkah is opening its door on the 16th of March 2016 and taking reservations. The property is brand new and located in the new Jabal Omar development, top luxury and only few meters from the entrance of the Haram mosque. This is the same development that hosts the Hilton Suites, Hyatt Regency and few more properties coming up soon. You can’t really beat any of these especially when you only need 40,000 points per night or 16,000 points plus £42 in cash and points.

The cash price is £150 per night (advance rate) or £190 easy cancellation, which is still not bad for a brand new property. With the new offer of 75% extra points the cash and points option can really stretch your budget further.  The total per night comes to approximately £100 including purchasing the points and paying for cash and points option, so you are saving £90 per night! It is £90 since the cash and points option is changeable and refundable up to 1 day before arrival. This gives you plenty of flexibility to book and issue your visa. If there are any problems you can always cancel with no fees. This is one of the reasons why I love miles and points. 🙂

The dates on cash and points are open from March with the exception of Ramadan (typical!) where all redemptions are blocked. Not cool but it is very busy for them and cash rates are sky-high.

Salam, on the Conrad website it shows the hotel a few hundred metres away from the haram which has really got me worried but it also says it’s in the jabal omar complex which is right behind dar al tawhid. They are saying two different things. I have already booked a few nights with the points and cash rate and it will be easy to cancel if needs be. I am now contemplating between Hilton suites and the Conrad as the suites are not much more. I am Hilton Gold as well so I’ll have access to the lounge.
Have a look on the Conrad website and it’ll show the location elsewhere.

      Salams Saif,

I know that the Conrad is very close, it is Hilton Suites, Hyatt and Conrad. I would say that it’s probably 3-4minutes walk from the Conrad to the Kabah off peak. Hilton Suites is fine as well they are only few hundred meters away from each other. I think many of the hotels and the maps in Makkah are not reliable and each property takes it from different direction. Not sure if they measure from the courtyard or from the masjid. Either one are great to stay in and I am sure inshaAllah you will have a great Umrah. 🙂

Location wise this property has a definite disadvantage. On the map it is not just a few meters but perhaps a lot of few meters making it quite inconvenient. I will definitely prefer Makkah hilton which is literally walking distance

Agree Hilton Towers are the closest. However the Conrad is only 2-4 minutes walk, it is next to Hyatt which is 3 minutes to King Fahad Gate. I think in the future all the hotels in the development will be in the courtyard.
