Club Carlson has a new promotion for 30K points for stays of 3+ nights or 15K for stays of 2+ nights. I really like the Club Carlson point generosity as they sometimes have some excellent cash and points options which can reduce your hotel bill significantly. Their Gold level might not have significant perks but the extra points and the 2for 1 and 4 for 2 nights more than make up in my opinion.

This promotion is valid for stays between 12th of January to 29th of March.
If you have any stays coming up I would say it is useful to sign up for this promotion as you have plenty of time to run for it.
During 2014 they had a great offer when you could sign up for their Gold level membership if you had an American Express. This was an awesome offer as it gives you access to their 2for 1 and 4for 2 offers in the EMEA. For the Gold members previous point promotions like this one counted even if they were on the 2for1 and 4 for 2 codes that are available to you. Though I am not 100% sure that this will work on this current one. Note that in this current offer points and cash or point redemptions are not eligible and will not count.
Here is what the small print says:
You must be a Club Carlson member to participate in the “Extend Your Stay, Earn 30K” promotion (“Promotion”). Stays or nights paid for by redeeming Gold Points or by using Points + Cash are not eligible for this Promotion. Members only need to register once, but registration must be received before checkout of the first Eligible Stay to qualify.
