If you every find yourself in Bradford (why?) Holiday Inn Express is only 5 minutes walk from the train and coach station. I have stayed in this hotel couple of times in the past and I can only rate it at about 2 star. It seems however that they do need to take care more of their rooms.

I booked this property during the previous “flash sale” as I needed couple of cheap stays to complete the “Into the Night” promotion. I arrived at 7pm after an extremely eventful day and I just wanted to get checked in and head out.
The Holiday Inn Express Bradford is located in the Leisure exchange between Cineworld and Gala casino. There are also a bowling centre, Nando’s, Pizza Hut and Frankie’s & Bennie’s. So if you need food or entertainment you can have both.
The reception is located on the second floor and it is accessible via an elevator. As I said I have stayed in this property before and my previous visits where quite positive, however this one seemed a little worse than before. The reception staff seemed disinterested. She did offer me my welcome points as a platinum member but gave me a standard room which I would have never given to a Platinum member.
The room was located on the fourth floor with a view towards the city. There was a bed and a couch that had definitely seen better days. If it was November the 5th the couch would have been the first to go on the bonfire! The wallpaper definitely needs replacing as it is starting to come off the wall. I actually thought that there was mould next to the bed but I still can’t figure out what it was.
I was actually planning to sleep the night there but after seeing the room and the smell in the bathroom I decide to give it a miss and head home. Not really a problem as I spent £29 on the room and I live only 20 minutes away.
It seemed clean but the smell of mould in the bathroom and the stains on the carpet made me doubt it. I would say that the property needs to up their game and update their rooms.
I can’t comment on breakfast from this time as I didn’t stay for it however I know it is the standard Holiday Inn Express breakfast. I would say that this property is definitely more of a 2 star rather than 3 stars and if they leave off the maintenance and update the property they will definitely lose customers. There are plenty of newer hotels in Bradford such as Premier Inn and the Ibis who offer the same service for the same price but are much more modern. Also, the Hilton is just in the city center and they refurbished their rooms recently.
