Plan Your Own Amazing 2-week November Umrah from as little as £800 per person; Deals and Steps inside

If you been reading MuslimTravelGirl you know that planning an Umrah doesn’t have to be expensive. So plan your November Umrah 2017 from as little at £600 per person.

Planning a DIY Umrah can really help you keep costs under budget and make it a memorable experience as well. Depending on your needs you can go very budget or more luxury for less. A lot of my readers and students in my DIY Umrah course actually manage to save up to 60% of the cost of a packaged Umrah when planned by themselves.

Flights

Flights can be the most expensive part of your Umrah and sadly the one you can’t avoid. I always recommend not flying direct so you can save money but of course, if you have young kids or elderly with you it’s not always possible.

Currently, prices of flights from the UK to Saudi Arabia are approximately £345 with Middle Eastern Airlines or £500 with Saudi Airlines. To view the flight options here.

If you are in the USA there are some good deals on flights from New York to Jeddah from as little as £500 per person for 10 nights in November with Egyptair or Turkish Airlines, personally, I prefer Turkish as they have better food and seats. You can view the flight options here.

If you want to use the great deals available in Premium Economy with British Airways and save some great money, you can fly from Paris to Jeddah via London in Premium Economy for as little as £590 per person.

Hotels in Makkah

As we know hotels are another expensive aspect of the Umrah, it again depends on what you want but there are so many options from budget to luxury now. One of the great budget hotels which we are all familiar with is the Ibis Makkah which is a newly opened hotel, you need to get a bus to Haram but the saving is totally worth it.

You can have the Ibis Makkah hotel for as little as £220 for 7 nights including breakfast.  Plus if you book via Hotels.com you also get 1 night free for every 10.

If you are looking for more luxury and options closer to the Haram then the Hilton Suites fits the bill. The property used to be more expensive in the previous years but now it seems to have settled in for £100 per night approximately.

You can book it via Hotels.com for £705 or similar price on Hilton.com. Depending on whether you have status or you collect Hilton points both make a good choice.

Hotels in Medina

For those visiting Medina, there are several hotel options as well.

Hilton Medina seems to be a decent price currently at £686 for 7 nights and it is only a few minutes walk to the Prophets mosque. To view the hotel here.

If you are looking for something close but not as expensive the Marriott Medina costs £380 for 7 nights including breakfast and it is a 5-minute walk to the mosque.

Using Hotels.com and signing up for the loyalty program can give you a free night after every 10. So, in reality, you will be getting some money back. As most people will go for 10 days to 2 weeks you can always try and maximise your spend and your Umrah will be even cheaper. This is one of the reasons why I like that program. It’s easy to use and gives you back instantly.

You can also use Topcashback and receive cashback on your hotel, if you are new to Topcashback you will also receive until 23rd of October £5 Amazon voucher by signing up here.

Transportation

I have a very comprehensive Umrah Transportation guide you can download below and use for your Umrah. But the best option will be an Uber from Jeddah to Makkah, a SPTCO bus from Makkah to Medina and depending on your flights I would take a flight from Medina to Jeddah. They cost £50 but save you a lot of hassle.

Umrah Visa

The visas are open and you can find they cost about £100 per person. If you are in the UK and you want to use Prince Visa you also receive 20% discount for the Umrah visa so it will cost you £80. You have to quote MuslimTravelGirl to get the discount. If you are from another country and you have a great agent to recommend please do drop me an email with your suggestion. 🙂

The total cost?

If you chose to stay in the budget-friendly hotels and fly with the cheapest flight option you can have a great 14 day Umrah trip in Makkah and Medina including breakfast based on 2 sharing from as little as £800. Plus you will receive a free night if you use Hotels.com for your bookings work the average of your stays. I would say a rebound of £60 for a night you can use within a year. So technically your Umrah will be £770. Not bad!
