The hotel promotions I am running for this quarter

12/01/2015 //  by Muslim Travel Girl//  Leave a Comment

muslim travel girl halal travelSome of the hotel chains have unveiled their hotel promotions for the first quarter of 2015. I covered the Set your Sights by IHG promotions here.

The IHG promotion is not very good for me as it requires 6 nights for 50,000 points which I think is unreasonable considering the amount that I need to spend. However my husband’s promotion is extremely easy as it needs only three nights. I just booked a night I needed in London before my Umrah flight so it is a no brainer to make this promotion. I will also need a weekend stay somewhere and with the IHG 48hour sale I am sure Holiday Inn express for £29 will just be my best option. Or I might take a weekend away before the end of the promotion in April and combine them together.

The second promotion I will be definitely be doing is the Hyatt promotion “Stay more, play more” which I wasn’t targeted for. The irony.

There were a few variations of this promotion:

  • 2,000 Bonus Points For 1 Stay
  • 5,000 Bonus Points After 2 Stays
  • 20,000 Bonus Points After 10 Nights
  • 65,000 Bonus Points After 25 Nights

I wasn’t targeted for any of these promotions, however I had already booked a Hyatt hotel in Abu Dhabi. As I always believe that you don’t get it if you don’t ask. I simply phoned the customer service department and asked to be enrolled. To my surprise and happiness they did actually enrol me to the 2,000 bonus points for 1 stay. So without doing anything other than what I had already planned I managed to receive points just by combining few promotions with my existing travel.

Another promotion I might consider is the Club Carlson “Extend your stay” which I think is excellent for those who are Gold members. There are a few properties in the London and Midlands area that offer great value for money on the 2for1 option. I am not 100% sure that this will be possible but last time on their similar offer I managed to receive all the points even though I had booked the 2for1 offer. If I am in the south of the UK before the end of April i might try and work on this promotion too.

This is how I like to play the travel game. I alway prefer to be able to travel and stay in the hotels whilst taking advantage of promotions. I will only do mattress runs if the promotion is great and I have only afew days to complete. As I don’t travel 100 days a year I see more benefit for my family to actually use our days and money wisely.
